September 6, 2024 - Numbers‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬-‭8

“And the Lord said to them, “Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams. But not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust. I speak to him face to face, clearly, and not in riddles! He sees the Lord as he is. So why were you not afraid to criticize my servant Moses?”” Numbers 12:6-8 NLT

Jesus, thank you for coming and dying for our sins. Thank you for shedding your blood as the perfect sacrifice that redeemed us and washes away all our sin. Thank you for making it possible for us to enter into your presence directly. We no longer have to have a priest go before you on our behalf. We no longer have to listen to a prophet to hear from you. We can come before you directly. You have given each of us access to your presence and to your Word. Wow. What an honor.

Lord, we don’t want to settle to only hear from you from others. We appreciate and need pastors, prophets, and other church leaders who give input into our lives, but they can’t replace spending time directly in your presence. We want to be like Moses. Make us your trusted ones. Come and speak to us face to face. Let us hear directly from you in a way that each of us can understand. Lord, grow us into followers who pursue your presence above all else. We want to hunger for holiness to the point that we quickly say no to our sinful desires. We don’t want to allow anything in our lives that would separate us from more of your presence. Lord, transform us and draw us closer until we find ourselves like Moses standing face to face with you.

In Jesus name, amen.
