September 28, 2022 - Isaiah 61:10
“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 NKJV
Lord, in you we have so much to rejoice in. We could talk for days and days about who you are and all that you have done for us. How wonderful that we get to spend all eternity praising you for your greatness and marvelous deeds. We praise you for clothing us in your salvation. You have washed clean all our sins. You have given us a pure white robe of righteousness. When I think about all my sins and how much I fall short of righteousness it seems insurmountable for me to be called holy. But you have made a way for us. Even when I continue to make wrong decisions; when I continue to choose to walk in sin; when I constantly fall so short, Lord, you don’t give up on me. Again and again, you forgive and make me whole. Your love for us is astounding.
Lord, we praise you for how you lavish your love on us. You don’t just stop with forgiveness, as if that wasn’t enough. No, you pour blessings over us more and more each day. You allow us to access your Holy of Holies and spend time in your presence. You share your thoughts with us and allow us to be a part of your divine plan. What an amazing God we serve. You are too good to be true, yet it is our reality. You are magnificent. We are adorned with ornaments and jewels. I think of the peace, joy, and other fruits of the Spirit that you place in our lives. I think of all the amazing promises for us that the Bible is full of. What amazing jewels they are. They are so much more valuable and desired than any earthly possession, no matter what it is worth. We praise you for how you love and bless us. All praise be to you.
