September 25, 2022 - Philippians 1:9-10

“I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.” Philippians 1:9-10 NLT

Yes, Lord, we pray this verse over our lives. We ask you to grow our love more and more. Let it overflow from us to the world around us. Teach us how to love like you love. We want to see people through your eyes. Give us your heart for them. Whether it is a close family member or the stranger at the cash register at the store, let us truly see people and make them feel valued. Help us learn to slow down and get out of our own world enough to be purposeful in this mission.

We also ask for an increase in our knowledge and understanding. Open our eyes to see with your insight. Open our mind to think with your wisdom. Let us see beyond the natural realm into the spiritual, past the surface and into the heart of matters. Grow us in this. Give us the faith to step out, believe, and act on the things that you are showing us. We want to live lives that are purposeful about your mission. It is what really matters. It is so easy for us to get all caught up in our own goals and pleasures. When we get to heaven, how much of our lives will we find out we wasted on things that didn’t matter at all? Lord, we so want to live in a way that our life is fulfilling your purposes here on earth. Show us the places we need to realign and then give us an overwhelming desire to make the needed changes in that area. Help us understand. We want to live pure and blameless lives until you return. We give you permission to do what you need to do to purify us and align our lives to your ways. Let our lives glorify you and bring your kingdom to earth in all that we do.
