September 24, 2022 - 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

“The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 NLT

Lord, can we look around us and see a letter of recommendation in the people in our lives? Have we poured into them? Have we encouraged them? Have we led the lost closer to you and discipled those who know you? Lord, we know that you have called each one of us to these things. They are not just for the pastors or evangelists. When we get to heaven, we want to see a large number of people who are there because of some influence that we had in their lives. We want to know that we did all that we could do here on earth to increase and strengthen your kingdom. Show us the places in our lives where we need to be more intentional. Where do we need to give more of our talents/giftings, time, money, and other resources? Who are the people you want us to be pouring into for this season, or even this day? What do we need to change in our own lives to be in a better place to help lead others?

We want to have people in our lives whose lives could be our letter of recommendation for the result of our ministry for you. We know that this will not happen at any large scale by accident. We must be intentional in how we live. Help us direct our lives to make this our life’s purpose that everything else supports. Lord, you and growing your kingdom here on earth must be what our life is about. Show each one of us exactly how that is to look in each of our lives. Whatever you are asking of us, we want to answer the call for your glory.
