September 23, 2023 - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

Lord, what a wonderful fact. Thank you that we are no longer the person we were before we declared you our Lord. We thank you that you forgive and forget. The old us is gone. We have started new. A fresh, clean, and completely new start. Like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. A completely new creation that doesn't act like the old creation at all. The butterfly doesn’t crawl around in the dirt anymore. The butterfly was made to fly.

Lord, we thank you that this new person we became is made for something so much greater than the person who didn’t know you. Help us to never limit ourselves based on our old selves. Open our eyes to understand what we were made to do. Let us see the wings you have given us and teach us how to use them. Point out any lies that we are believing that are keeping us crawling in the dirt. Forgive us for choosing to live under them and help change our mentality.

Lord, thank you that if we have given our lives to you, we belong to you. Lord, you take care of what is yours. We thank you that we are never alone or forgotten. You are always with us. You want us to succeed. You want to see us live as a “butterfly”. You are not just leaving us to figure it out. You are with us and will be there, teaching us how to fly. We thank you that if we fall you don’t just leave us in the dirt, but you pick us up and encourage us to try again. It is such an honor to serve a loving Father like you. Today, help us walk out becoming more of the new person you are calling us to be.

In Jesus name, amen.
