September 20, 2024 - Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭20

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20 NLT

Oh, Jesus, we praise you for how you pursue us. We don’t deserve your love or your friendship. But not only do you offer it to us freely, you pursue us. You stand at the doors of our hearts, and you knock asking to be let in. You don’t force yourself on us and demand our allegiance. You are God Almighty, who deserves our praise, honor and allegiance, yet you don’t demand it from us. You stand there and knock, allowing us to make the choice to let you in. When we do, you still honor us. You will not take more than what we willingly offer you. And the more we give you the more we get back from you. We don’t deserve anything from you, but you love to pour out your blessings over us. Your love is truly unfathomable.

Lord, help us to always welcome you in. Help us to always willingly give our everything to you. Help us to choose to take the time to sit and share a meal with you every day. You have prepared so much for us. Everything that we will need for each day is laid out before us, if only we will take the time to dine with you and get to know you as our best friend. No one can begin to compare to the friendship you offer us. Help us to let you in and pursue you more than we pursue anything this world has to offer. Lord, you are so worth it and worth anything we must lay down to fully gain more of you.

In Jesus name, amen.
