September 20, 2023 - Psalms 1:2-3
“But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” Psalms 1:2-3 NLT
Lord, make us people who do delight in your laws. We want to find joy in living in your ways. Let us meditate on your words day and night. We ask that you would be constantly bringing them to our minds. Help us to memorize them and get them deep within us, until they become a part of us. Brand them into our DNA.
Show us how to plant ourselves by your refreshing river. Remind us to take the time to sit by you and soak you in. We want to dig our roots down really deep into who you are. We want to dig out the treasures within your word. Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, open our hearts and minds to grasp what you are really saying to us. Show us those hidden gems. Help us never to choose the easy road where our roots to stay shallow. We want to choose to always take the time in your word and with you to grow deep and flourish.
We ask that as we do grow deeper into who you are that you would allow us to produce an abundance of fruit. Let us be people who stay green and fruitful in each season. We don’t want to wither in the tough seasons. Show us how to grow our roots so deep in you that even in the droughts, that are meant to destroy us, we are still nourished by you.
We thank you that it is possible to live that way. We thank you that even in the hardest of seasons we can flourish in you. Praise you that it is not only possible to do that, but it is what you want for each of us. You are such a wonderful God to us.
In Jesus name, amen.
