September 2, 2023 - Matthew 17:20
“He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith. I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move! There is nothing you couldn’t do!” Matthew 17:20 TPT
Lord, we thank you for the power that you give us access to. How remarkable the things that we can do with you. If the smallest amount of faith can move a mountain, what can you accomplish with a large amount of faith? We want to find out, Lord. Show us how to increase the size of our faith.
Lord, grow our faith. Help us learn to trust you more. Give us the courage it takes to pray big prayers and trust you to answer. It can be so easy to cower away from praying big prayers, especially out loud around other people. Lord, forgive us for giving in to this fear. Help us overcome it. We want to be people who will pray for impossible things and have faith to expect them to happen.
Lord, we thank you that you call us to be people of faith and that you want to do the impossible through us. Give us situations like you did David that help us get to the point of seeing the huge things happen. You didn’t take him as a young boy, give him an army, and expect him to have the faith to lead them to unlikely victories. No, you started him off with small faith victories that lead to lions and bears, that lead to Goliath, that lead to leading a few hundred to victories, and eventually to leading a nation in victories. Help us grow in our faith too.
Today, we commit to look for opportunities to stretch our faith and believe you for something impossible. We ask for opportunities to speak out a prayer of big faith and trust you for the impossible. Thank you for the power that you have placed within us.
