September 19, 2023 - 1 Peter‬ ‭3:10-12

“For the Scriptures tell us: Whoever wants to embrace true life and find beauty in each day must stop speaking evil, hurtful words and never deceive in what they say. Always turn from what is wrong and cultivate what is good; eagerly pursue peace in every relationship, making it your prize. For the eyes of the Lord Yahweh rest upon the godly, and his heart responds to their prayers. But he turns his back on those who practice evil.” 1 Peter 3:10-12 TPT

Lord, yes! We want to embrace true life and find beauty in each day. We thank you that you give us such clear instructions on how to make that a reality. We thank you so much for the gift of your Scripture.

Holy Spirit, we ask you to help us live out these instructions. Help us guard our tongues. We don’t want to speak evil against any other person. Convict us if we lie or try to twist the truth to deceive or manipulate others. We want the words that come out of our mouth to always be edifying to you and others. Give us your strategies to create peace in all our relationships.

Lord, help us always be so quick to turn and run from what is wrong, not entertaining it even for a minute. Help us to really create an atmosphere around us in which we can cultivate what is good. Help us to pursue righteousness. Help us to never become people that you turn your back on. Open our eyes to any place where we are not pursuing righteousness and are giving sin a place in our lives.

We thank you that your eyes rest on the Godly and you hear our prayers. We thank you for how faithful and loving you are to us. We will open our eyes and take the time to look for and see the beauty you put around us each day.

In Jesus name, amen.
