September 17, 2023 - Isaiah‬ ‭54:5‬

“For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.” Isaiah 54:5 NIV

Jesus, what a beautiful picture. It brings so much wholeness to us. You have claimed us as your bride. You are our husband. You love us that much. You see us for who we really are. You know us completely. Nothing is hidden. Yet even with that, you choose us. Wow. How amazing.

We thank you so much for the opportunity to be loved like you love. Your love is pure and whole. It heals and restores. It fulfills. We thank you that we are never alone, for you are always with us. We are made whole in you. Teach us how to love you with all we are. Teach us how to see you as our husband and get to know you as such.

We are so blown away that you call us your bride. You are the Lord Almighty, the Holy One, our Redeemer, the God of all the earth. You could create someone who was perfect and couldn’t mess up. Someone who was created to love and serve you only. Yet would it be love if she didn’t have the choice to love? You choose to create us for that task, but you gave us freedom to choose. Lord, we choose you. Help us to learn to live a pure life for you. And when we mess up, help us to be quick to come to you to get washed clean. Help us learn to be the pure bride you deserve.

Jesus, we thank you that we get to call you our husband. Thank you that we are fully loved by you. We belong to you. We commit ourselves to you again today. We commit to getting to know you more, to becoming the bride you deserve, and to learning to love you the way that you love us. Thank you for choosing us!
