September 16, 2023 - Psalms‬ ‭8:2‬

“You have built a stronghold by the songs of children. Strength rises up with the chorus of infants. This kind of praise has power to shut Satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.” Psalms 8:2 TPT

Lord, I am reminded today of how powerful our praise and our prayers are. The second they are uttered from our lips they change things. Not one word goes unheard. Once it is spoken the enemy can’t silence it. It will accomplish what it set out to do. It’s amazing how much power is in our words.

Lord, this verse says that the praise of children and infants will shut the mouth of Satan. How much more powerful could we be if we took the faith of a child and combined it with our experience and knowledge. What could be accomplished for you if we used our words strategically. Lord, give us a greater understanding of the power that we contain. Help us learn how to effectively use that power.

Lord, we thank you so much for entrusting us with your power. We thank you that the only way Satan can stop the power that we release with our prayers and praise is if he can keep us from saying it to begin with. Help us not to fall for his distractions and not take the time to engage in prayer and praise. Help us not believe his lies that our words don’t matter or are not heard by you. Open our eyes to any way the enemy is keeping us from living a life of prayer and praise. Forgive us. Remind us constantly that we are more powerful than him and we can drive him away when we speak to you. Help us always remember that prayer and praise is the key to seeing victory as we fight our battles.
