September 13, 2022 - Joshua 1:8
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT
Lord, we thank you for your Word. What a precious gift it is! It is a book of instructions that gives us directions for life. It helps us learn to live in your kingdom ways and helps keep us on your narrow path. We want to study It and bury it deep within us. Increase our desire to spend time daily reading it. As we study it, give us your understanding and insight. Help us change our lifestyle to line up with your instructions. Give us an overwhelming need to obey what is written. We want everything in our life to bring you glory. Help us live our lives in a way that we are a shining example that leads the world into a closer understanding of who you are.
Lord, we praise you that this verse also promises that when we follow the instruction in your Word, we will prosper and succeed in all we do. What an amazing promise. Thank you that you want to see us living a successful life. You want our lives to show off your love for us. We can see a beautiful example of this in the way you blessed the Israelites when they were living for you. You delivered them into the land of milk and honey. You again and again poured out your blessings over the people who lived to honor you. We thank you for your blessings. As we align our lives with your Word and see your blessings poured over us, teach us how to use your blessings to honor you. They are not solely for our benefits, but so that we can bless others and draw them to you. We also ask that you open our eyes to all the ways you are pouring out your blessings over us. They are not always in possessions, and we want to learn to worship you for them in whatever form they come. Thank you for all your blessings!
