October 8, 2022 - 1 Peter 5:10-11

“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11 NLT

Jesus, what an honor that we get to spend eternity with you in your glory. We thank you so much for making it possible for us to spend forever with you. We owe you so much gratitude. How great that we have all eternity to express that to you. We know that the time that we spend here on earth is just a small blink in light of eternity. We have such a short period here to choose to honor and obey you. Everything that we face here might seem like huge things now in our perspective of time, but in reality, our lives are not limited to this blink of time. Help us to always remember that this is such a short time, but how we live our lives and the decisions that we make here affect our eternal future. Help us make wise decisions based on a kingdom perspective that goes beyond our life in these bodies.

Lord, we praise you that when we get to heaven we will be fully restored. We will be exactly who you created us to be. We praise you that there will be no more pain and trials. Lord, we also praise you that we don’t have to wait until that day to experience your presence and your healing hand. Even though that will be the day that we will be fully restored, you are working in us now. You want to heal us and strengthen us now. We praise you that even living in this fallen world with all its uncertainties and storms, you are our firm foundation. We can stand strong on you regardless of what comes our way. Show us the things we are doing that compromise our walk with you and our anchor in your foundation. We want to always live with an eternal kingdom perspective.
