“If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.” 2 Timothy 2:13 NLT
Lord, what a beautiful thing that you can’t deny who you are. You must be faithful. You must be love. You must be holy. You must be righteous and just. You must be wise. Because you are those things you can’t be anything that contradicts those things. You can never stop being those things. Even when we don’t understand why it seems you are not there for us, you are still being faithful to us, because you can’t be anything other than faithful. You cannot lie to us. It just isn’t in your character to do so. If you said it, it is the ultimate truth. We praise you for your faithfulness.
Lord, help us develop our character after yours. Show us how to ground ourselves in you to the point that we are unmoving in your good qualities as well. We want to be willing to stand in love, righteousness, holiness, faithfulness, etc. even when it will cost us significantly. But before we can stand in those characteristics, and others like them, we must fully commit to fully live in them. We must be fully committed to uproot any sins in our lives that come against us and keep us from fully allowing those to be in our lives. We can never be a just person if we allow anything such as prejudices, tolerances for different sins and evil, manipulation, or lies in our lives. Lord, open our eyes to the things that we are tolerating in our lives that come against seeing your characteristics fully in our lives. Help us uproot anything holding us back. Let us be fully committed to walk a faithful and devoted life for you. Help us allow you to purify our lives so that our life is a clear reflection of your characteristics. Teach us how to love you like you love us. We want it to be said about us that we are solid and unyielding in our faith.
In Jesus name, amen.
