October 24, 2024 - Deuteronomy‬ ‭2‬:‭25‬

“Beginning today I will make people throughout the earth terrified because of you. When they hear reports about you, they will tremble with dread and fear.” Deuteronomy 2:25 NLT

Lord, you declared this to the people of Israel as they were preparing to enter into the promised land. I love that it shows how you can do whatever you want. It wasn’t that people would fear the Israelites because of what they have done or how great they were. It was because of what you did through them. You moved on their behalf. You helped them win battles. It was all because of you. They could look at the land and easily see all the people who needed to be overcome, and it likely seemed like an overwhelming task. There were giants, strong kingdoms, and fortified cities, but now was the time for them to stand in faith believing that you would help them overcome. That you would make others tremble before them.

Lord, help us to be more aware of how you are moving in our lives. Show us what you are doing on our behalf every day. Let your name be glorified to those around us because of what you are doing through our lives. We want to live our lives in obedience to all that you ask of us. Use us; transform us; be glorified through us in all that we do. Show yourself to the world around us through our lives. Even when where you are taking us looks overwhelming and too great to overcome, help us to trust that you can make even the giants standing before us tremble at the sight of us. It is all because of who you are and how you care for us. We praise you for your love and greatness.
