October 22, 2024 - Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬-‭8‬

“I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ” Philippians 3:7-8 NLT

Jesus, you are truly our treasure. The things of this earth might bring us pleasure and status here on earth, but our time on earth is only a few seconds compared to eternity. What we store up here will quickly fade away and matter no more. The status we gain here on earth with people will not matter at all in your kingdom. If we are not investing ourselves into gaining more of you in our time here on earth, we will leave this earth with nothing. We praise you that we can find infinite value when we spend our time getting to know you Jesus.

Lord, show us the things in our lives that we are valuing more than you. Forgive us for the ways we have gotten it wrong. Help us prioritize our lives in a way that aligns with your kingdom ways. Give us an eternal mindset in the way that we live here on earth. We don’t want to spend our short life storing up pleasures and comfort and gaining status that will just disappear. Show us how to invest our time, talents, and treasures in a way that will add to your kingdom and have an eternal legacy. We want knowing and pleasing you to be our highest priority during our time here on earth.

In Jesus name, amen.
