October 21, 2022 - Psalms 33:6-9
“The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him. For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.” Psalms 33:6-9 NLT
Lord, we can’t fathom the depths of your power. By your mere word you created the heavens, the earth, and everything in it. That is an astounding thought as a whole, but when we stop to think of the great detail that went into everything that you created and the complexity of how it all works together, as well as the vast variety we see in creation, it is more than we can put words to. The wisdom that it took is just…wow. You went all out. You created so much beauty. Not just one flower but hundreds of thousands of varieties in a range of colors and shades and in all different shapes and sizes. There was so much love put into the creation that you made for us. Thank you for making everything so complex for both our enjoyment and fulfillment as we dive into discovering more and more about your creation.
Lord, everything you created submits to your command. The Bible says that even the rocks will cry out their praises to you. At the sound of your voice, you can make anything happen. Those that passionately don’t believe in you or those that are extremely against you, will bow before you in an instant at the smallest glimpse of your glory or the sound of your voice. Even the devil, his every demon, and every bit of evil will bow before you and submit to your voice.
Lord, we stand in awe of your power. We want to submit to you willingly, every day because you are worthy and not because you command it from us. We want to live in a way that we display your love and power to the world around us. All for your glory.
