October 19, 2023 - Song of Songs 6:2-3
“My lover has gone down into his garden of delight, to the flowerbeds of spices to feast with those pure in heart. I am fully devoted to my beloved, and my beloved is fully devoted to me.” Song of Songs 6:2-3 TPT
Lord, we thank you so much for how you love us. We thank you that your love is not fickle. You don’t love us today and forget about us tomorrow. Your love for us doesn’t change depending on our behavior. Our faithfulness does not determine your faithfulness to us. We never have to wonder if you really love us. You consider us prized possession and we always have your attention. You are fully devoted to us. How wondrous! It’s a perfect and unending love.
Jesus, I love that you have a garden of delight that you want us to join you in. How marvelous that we get to feast with you. I don’t believe this is some weird analogy or something for when we get to heaven. I believe that you long for us to spend time with you in this place even now. I believe you have so much that you want to share with us, if only we would take the time to sit and give you our attention. If we work to live with a pure heart and allow you to clean us up when we fail, you will meet us in the garden. Help us learn to always put you first.
Lord, help us to experience your love more and more. Break down the barriers that we put up that keep your love at arm’s length. Help us break the lies off that tell us something other than truth where your love is concerned. Open our eyes to see and our minds to understand what your love really looks like. Teach us what it means to live life in the confidence of your love. Grow us in loving you the way that you love us. We want to be able to call you our beloved and really live our life in a way that shows that we really view you that way. Draw us closer and help us fall more and more in love with you every day.
