October 17, 2024 - Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬-‭8‬

“Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.” Ephesians 6:7-8 NLT

Yes, Lord, we want to always work hard to please you and not man. We want to be people who will go the extra mile and not cut corners in our work. Help us to always remember that as Christians, we represent you. We want the people we work with to see the joy and enthusiasm we have for what we are doing, even if what we are doing isn’t fun or fulfilling. Even if we are not appreciated by our boss or those we work with, let us not work for their approval, but for yours. Let us see those we interact with through your eyes. Show us how to love them and when needed to forgive them. Help us to be unoffendable in our workplaces. Help us to trust you to work things out and defend us when we are mistreated or taken advantage of. Show us how to stand for righteousness in all we do and do the job to the best of our ability for your glory. Fill us with your joy even in the tasks that we dislike the most.

We want to learn to work with you in our daily work tasks. Show us how to bring you into all that we do. We want to bring you with us to all we do and have your presence in us literally change the atmosphere everywhere we go. Show us how to make every place we go a better place. Give us your wisdom, insights, creativity, and strategies. Show us how to shine your light into our workplaces and be a great example of you to those we work with. Help us not to work for the approval of man, but for your approval.

In Jesus name, amen.
