October 16, 2024 - Philippians 1:6
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6 NLT
Lord, this is such a beautiful and hope-filled statement! We praise you that you are not finished with us. Your work in us began when you designed us and put us together. Every detail of who we are was fashioned by you. You didn’t send us to earth and then walk away. No, you have been working in us ever since then. You are constantly working to draw us to you. You are working to restore what the enemy has done in an effort to destroy us. You are working in us to make us more like you. You are working to turn us into something beautiful. You have an amazing plan for our lives, and you are working to see that plan fulfilled in our life.
Regardless of the mess we think we have made of our lives, or the many shortcomings we know we have, we can stand strong in knowing that this isn’t where it ends. You are not finished with us. When all we see are our failures, help us to cling to that fact. We want to open ourselves up to you fully and allow you to freely do the work in us that you want to do. Sometimes that may cause us pain or discomfort, but we can trust that you are gentle and kind. Even in the pain you are right there with us helping us through. Help us to look for you and lean into you in those moments. Help us to willingly lay down or walk away from anything you need us to surrender to you so that you can do all you need to do in us. We declare we trust you, Lord. We want to say, “Yes” to whatever you ask of us, knowing that you are working in us to make us the best version of us. Thank you so much that you are working in us, and you are so not finished with us yet.
In Jesus name, amen.
