October 15, 2023 - 1 John 3:10
“Here is how God’s children can be clearly distinguished from the children of the Evil One. Anyone who does not demonstrate righteousness and show love to fellow believers is not living with God as his source.” 1 John 3:10 TPT
Lord, we are so grateful to be called children of God. That you claim us as your own is so wonderful. It is wonderful the authority and rights that come with being a child of God. We love that you don’t want us to be an infant who relies on a parent for everything. You want us to grow in you. You want us to learn how to stand in your power and walk in its authority. We want to know how to stand tall, but at the same time also fully rely on you as our source. It is so marvelous how your kingdom works.
Lord, help us to walk in a way that always brings you glory. We do not want there to be any chance for you or anyone else to ever confuse us as being a child of the evil one. Holy Spirit, come and help us align our lives in your ways. Open our eyes to any place where we are not walking in a righteous way. Give us the desire to make it right. Help us love your ways and hate sin.
Lord, also increase our love for others. Help us always be quick to offer forgiveness. We don’t want to hold on to offence. We recognize that not only will it bring pain to you, but it will destroy our lives. Help us do our best to always believe the best about others and not be quick to jump to negative conclusions. We don’t want to tear each other down but build each other up. Even when others mess up, we want to encourage them to grow, not pile on condemnation. Let us be marked as being so obviously one of your devout children.
