October 14, 2024 - Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬-‭6

“You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.” Ephesians 5:5-6 NLT

Lord, please forgive us for any sin that we have tried to excuse. Open our eyes to them. Show us any sins in our lives that we don’t even see as sins. Help us change the things that we need to change so that our lives align with your truth and your ways. We want to live holy lives. It is so easy to read over verses like this one and quickly brush it off as being for someone else. Holy Spirit, help us to not to be like that. We invite you into our lives and ask that you would clean our temples out. We don’t want any hidden sins. Today, show us if we have anything immoral in our lives. Show us if we are living in an impure way in any place. Lord, are there any areas of our lives where we are being greedy? Please open our eyes to it. We welcome your conviction. Forgive us of any place we are idolizing or worshiping anything of this world. Holy Spirit, make this clear to us, forgive us, and help us change any of these behaviors.

Make us righteous people who walk in your ways. Please help us to never allow any sin to stay in our lives. Change our thinking and make us more like you. Holy Spirit, help us. Be our strength to run from sin and the ways of this world. Bring conviction where needed. We welcome your help in our lives. We need it. We are so grateful to have you walking with us, helping us. You are so amazing!

In Jesus name, amen.
