October 13, 2023 - 2 Corinthians 1:21-22
“Now, it is God himself who has anointed us. And he is constantly strengthening both you and us in union with Christ. He knows we are his since he has also stamped his seal of love over our hearts and has given us the Holy Spirit like an engagement ring is given to a bride—a down payment of the blessings to come!” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 TPT
Jesus, what a beautiful picture these verses paint. We thank you so much that you have stamped your seal of love on our hearts. It is like we have been branded by you. We belong to you. We have been claimed and are fully loved by the most pure and radical love.
We thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. What a perfect gift to give us to help walk through this life. We thank you that you didn’t leave us alone here but gave us the Holy Spirit to fulfill that promise that we would never be alone. Also, as a reminder of what is to come and a helper to get us ready to fulfill that promise. We want to be a bride that is ready and waiting. A pure and spotless bride. The Holy Spirit will help us learn to walk in a way to make that possible in our lives.
We thank you that you are constantly strengthening us in our union with Christ. We are so grateful. We want to constantly go deeper in our relationship with you. We want to know you more intimately. We are so grateful that you also want that. What an honor to be chosen and loved by you. We thank you for how you anoint us as your own. Thank you for the grace and mercy you extend to us. Thank you for your patience and unending love. We will never deserve it. How marvelous that you have given it to us freely. Praise be unto you forever and ever.
