October 11, 2024 - John‬ ‭4‬:‭10

“Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”” John 4:10 NLT

Jesus, you spoke these words to a Samaritan woman. You had asked her to draw you some water to drink out of the well. When she questioned you about it, you asked her this question. And it just confused her even more. Like her, how often do we limit what you want to do in our lives or what you want to give us because of our lack of understanding and faith. We look at you through our narrow perspective, often allowing lies, misunderstandings, and hurts to limit our view even more. Help us grab onto your truth. Help us see you for who you really are and open us up to understand how you want to love and bless us. Remove the blinders, uproot the lies, heal the hurts in our lives. Grow our faith.

Lord, let us come to you every day with grateful and expectant hearts. Let us take the time each day to sit and dine with you at your table. We want to spend time getting to know you and feasting on all you have for us. We don’t need to live off the crumbs that fall from someone else’s meal. You don’t want us living off yesterday’s bread. You have something fresh for us each day. Help us make dining with you a daily priority. Fill us with more of your presence and let it be what sustains us each day. We praise you for your blessings. We praise you for all that you have prepared for us. Help us to never limit what you want to do in us and what you want to fill us with. We want all of you and all you have for us, our Lord. And we want to give to you all that we are.

In Jesus name, amen.
