October 10, 2024 - Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭14

“And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14 NLT

Lord, I think this verse gets so often forgotten. It is so easy to look at the state that our world is in and think that we must be so close to your return. We hear so many people listing all the reasons we are in the end times. I don’t doubt that we are getting closer. Oh, but Lord, we have so many more people that need to hear your name. There are so many unreached people groups who still haven’t received the Gospel. They desperately need to hear your truth and be given the opportunity to surrender to your saving grace. It is heartbreaking how many people die each day without knowing you because we the church haven’t finished the task you have given us. Jesus, you gave your life for them and long for each soul you created to allow you to restore them.

Please, help us as your church grab onto the truth of this verse and the Great Commission. Make it a bigger priority for your bride. Help us shift the priorities of our lives to line up with what you feel should be our priorities. Help us live in a way that we are always shining your light into a dark world desperate for light. Help us open ourselves up to you to refine us so that we reflect you more clearly to the world around us. Show us daily the people we need to be witnessing to and praying for. Show us what our part is in global missions and help to reach those around the world who have never had an opportunity to hear your Gospel message. Lord, we long for your return, and you have given us the task to preach your name throughout the whole world. So let each of us answer that call until all have heard.
