November 6, 2022 - 2 Timothy 2:1-2
“Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.” 2 Timothy 2:1-2 NLT
Lord, we thank you so much for your grace. It is such an amazing thing. It removes all our sins. It allows you to not require perfection from us. We praise you so much for the way you extend it to us constantly. We praise you for the strength that it gives us. Help us learn to grow strong in you Jesus. We want to be people who know how to walk in grace – to not abuse it, but to walk freely and humbly.
Lord, we also thank you for how you teach and instruct us. Your Bible is a beautiful book of instruction. We thank you for your insight into it. We thank you for how you speak to us and teach us through it. Increase our understanding. Open our eyes to see exactly what you are saying to us. Give us your wisdom to know how to live your teachings. We long to be reliable witnesses to the world around us. Witnesses that represent you well. We want to be like a mirror who can clearly reflect you to those we encounter. Help purify our lives so that we can reflect you well.
Lord, teach us how to train others up in your ways. Whether you call us to teach before hundreds or just raise our children in your ways, I believe you have called us all to be a part of teaching others your ways. Show us who we are to pour ourselves into. Give us people who are trustworthy and ready to learn. We don’t want to waste our time pouring into people who are not ready to hear and learn. Lead us to the right people and give us insight on how to work with those people specifically. Guide us and continue to grow us as we teach others. Help us multiply devoted disciples for you.
In Jesus name, amen.
