November 27, 2024 - Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11

“Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.” Philippians 4:11 NLT

Wow, Lord, what a statement that Paul makes here. How many of us can honestly say this? We want to learn to be content in all seasons; in the seasons where we walk in abundance and health, in the seasons where our resources are stretched to the max and you are the only one who will make ends meet, in the seasons where our bodies are failing us, in the seasons where we find ourselves in absolute heartbreak and only by your grace we go on, in the seasons where what we face seems beyond impossible and without you we would find ourselves in utter hopelessness. Lord, in whatever season and no matter the situations of life we find ourselves in, let our faith and trust stand strong. Let us learn to be content and uplift your praises. Let us know how to exude your joy and hope.

Lord, we praise you for how you care for us. We are never forsaken or forgotten. No matter how bad our situations seem to be, you will never leave us. Even if we don’t feel you and the lies that you don’t care or have left us are screaming so loud that they are hard to ignore, help us stand on the truth. Help us press into you and see our roots go deeper in you. Grow us and make us stronger. Teach us contentment in you.

In Jesus name, amen.
