November 26, 2024 - Psalms‬ ‭44‬:‭6‬-‭8‬

“I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me. You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies; you disgrace those who hate us. O God, we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name.” Psalms 44:6-8 NLT

Lord, we praise you for your greatness. You are almighty. We praise you that you cannot be defeated. We also praise you for your faithfulness. When our hearts are set on following you and walking in obedience to you, we don’t stand alone. You will fight on our behalf. We don’t have to count on our own skills and power. They will fail us. Show us any areas in our lives where we are trusting in our own skills, resources, or power to succeed. Forgive us. Teach us what we need to do to make changes in those areas. Forgive us for our pride that tells us we can do it in our own strength, or we can count on ourselves more than we can count on you. This is a flat out lie. Lord, there is nothing that we can do on our own better than when we put our trust and faith in you.

Lord, help us always learn to lean on you in all that we do and not on our own strength, even in the small things in life. We praise you for how you fight for us. We praise you that you always will do things better than we can. You can see the whole picture and know what is truly best for us. Even when things don’t go the way we wanted or anticipated, we declare that our trust and faith will remain rooted deeply in you. You are worthy, our Lord. We give you all the glory for how you work in our lives. Let your praise constantly be on our lips!
