November 26, 2023 - Isaiah 12:2
“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”” Isaiah 12:2 NIV
God, you are our salvation. We thank you that you not only sent your Son to bring eternal salvation to us, but you are constantly saving us from disaster. We thank you for how you come to our rescue when we need it. Even if it is our own poor decisions that put us in a place of needing to be rescued, you are still right there to save us again. We are so grateful that you are always there for us.
Lord, we thank you that you are such a trustworthy God. We never have to doubt you because you are always faithful to us. We do not have to live in fear, and we never have to be anxious, but we can rest in your peace even in the roughest storms. Help us grow in this understanding. Teach us more and more how to trust in you and live in that place of peaceful rest.
Jesus, we thank you that you are our strength. When we feel like we can’t go one more step, you will carry us and help us through. You restore our souls. You help us to run and not get weary. Thank you that your strength is unending. It will never run out on us.
We also thank you that you are our defense. We can never come close to defending ourselves like you defend us. Help us learn not to take matters into our own hands but leave the defending up to you. We can trust you with that. You see everything; you know us; you know the motives of those around us; you see the future; you are a God of justice and love. How can we even think we can do a better job than you? We can’t, so we put our trust in you, our defender.
Thank you for all that you have done and are doing for us. We praise you for it.
In Jesus name, amen.
