November 24, 2024 - 1 Corinthians 10:33
“I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved.” 1 Corinthians 10:33 NLT
Lord, would you help us be more like Paul in this. He put others above himself. Help us be willing to lay down our rights, preferences, and even our freedoms if that is what it costs for others to come to know you. Give us your eyes and help us to see the world around us with an eternal perspective. What is truly valuable is seeing people come to know you and be able to spend eternity in your presence. It can be so easy to get caught up in the ways of our world. We choose to value things that really don’t matter. Forgive us. Change us. Transform the way we think, see the world around us, and the way we act. Help us be willing to give up whatever comforts and preferences you ask of us so that others can know you. When needed, help us be willing to surrender some of our freedoms so that we don’t cause others to stumble in their walk with you.
Lord, we commit our lives to you afresh again. We praise you for all the freedoms, blessings, and the riches of this world that make life more comfortable. We are so grateful for all we have, but we also declare we will lay it all down for your name to be glorified.
In Jesus name, amen.
