November 22, 2022 - Psalms 9:7-8

“But the LORD reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne. He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness.” Psalms 9:7-8 NLT

Lord, we praise you that your reign is forever. There is no one or anything that is more powerful or wiser than you. You will never be overtaken. We can rest in that assurance. We praise you that you are a just God who reigns through love, mercy, and grace. We praise you that what you say are right and wrong, are just that. There is no inconsistency. If it was a sin yesterday, it is a sin today. You do not change your mind with the inconsistencies of changing cultures, passing time, or anything else of the like. We thank you that you have made right and wrong easy for us to understand and follow. We praise you for being a God that rules in fairness. Lord, we also ask that when we look at our situations and only see the injustices, remind us that you are still on the throne, and you will defend us. Let us trust that you are just even when your actions look different than what we wanted.

Lord, we thank you that you see everything from your throne. There is nothing that is missed by you. There is nothing that is too insignificant for your attention. You see every sin and every action of righteousness. You see our every thought and the motives behind our actions. You see every injustice committed at every moment no matter how big or small. We praise you that you will judge the world and we will all be held accountable for our actions. Lord, we are so grateful for your mercy and forgiveness. But we never want to allow ourselves to justify our sin because we know you will forgive. Help us to desire righteousness in our lives and do all that we can to live in it. We want to honor you and your desires. Lord, you are worthy for us to choose righteousness over the desires of our flesh.
