November 18, 2024 - Joshua‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬-‭24‬

“For the Lord your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and he kept it dry until you were all across, just as he did at the Red Sea when he dried it up until we had all crossed over. He did this so all the nations of the earth might know that the Lord’s hand is powerful, and so you might fear the Lord your God forever.” Joshua 4:23-24 NLT

Lord, we can see all through scriptures and in our own lives how you allow us to find ourselves in the most impossible situations. We see it here as you told the Israelites to cross into the promised land, but an overflowing Jordan River stands in their way. Yet again, they find themselves in an impossible situation and you came through for them. Not only did you hold the waters back for them to cross, but you dried the ground. Just like when you split the Red Sea for them to cross, right before the Egyptian armies overtook them, you did the impossible to take care of them. Lord, when we find ourselves in the impossible places in life where we are desperate for our situations to change, help us to cling to faith with our trust deeply rooted in you. Even when we see no solutions, let us trust that you can make a way. Help us to stand there expectant for you to move. Help us walk in obedience to anything you ask of us.

Lord, we want to see you do the impossible so your name will be glorified to everyone around us. We lay our lives at your feet. Do what you need to do in us so that you get all the glory through our lives. Even if that means we must walk into dire situations, we are willing to stand in trust in you through it if it is what brings you the most glory. Work out every circumstance in our life according to your plan. You are the only Way Maker and we praise you for all the different ways you have done the impossible in our lives and all the ways that are to come.
