November 17, 2023 - Hebrews 10:23

Lord, we thank you so much for the hope that we have in you. It is a hope that is unending. It blooms even in the driest of deserts and places of utter despair. Thank you that we are never without hope regardless of what the situation we are in might look or feel like, because you are our hope, and you never leave us. We thank you that nothing is impossible for you. Thank you that when we are at the end of our rope, it is not the end of your rope. When we face the Red Sea with a huge army approaching to kill us, you can either split the sea or kill the army - or both! Help us to always remember this truth when things look hopeless, and we feel doomed.
Lord, inscribe your promises deep in our hearts. Help us to stand firm on those promises in the times when life feels like it is just too much, and things look impossible. Help us to live our lives on the firm foundation of your truth and not on sand that will wash away. Help us remember that emotions are like sand, they can shift all over the place. If how we feel doesn’t line up with your truth, then we can’t trust our feelings. Help us learn to recognize when we need to quit listening to how we feel. In those times, teach us how to overcome our feelings and stand firm on your truth.
Jesus, we thank you that we can always count on you. You are not like other people in our lives that have had good intentions but let us down. No, you are faithful to us. Thank you for the hope that we can put in you. Thank you that we can trust you to come through.
