November 14, 2022 - Acts 4:31
“After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31 NLT
Lord, what must it have been like to pray and then feel the building shake? How often do we read things like this and think that you don’t move like that anymore? But that isn’t true. You are the same God now as you were then. Give us the faith that these early believers had. When they prayed, they came before you with expectant hearts. They prayed for boldness, and you answered. Teach us how to pray to you with such faith that you shake buildings when you answer. We want to see your power. Let it grow our faith. Show us what you want to do in and through us. Forgive us if in any way we have seen you as a distant God who rarely does miracles anymore. Forgive us if we have not had the faith to believe that you can or will use us, as ordinary and lacking as we might see ourselves, to perform miracles. Realign our perspective so that we see through your eyes and have the faith to believe you for miracles.
We pray that you would increase our boldness to be witnesses for your righteousness and power. Holy Spirit, come and fill us anew. Show us how to be constantly pouring out your power to the world around us, and yet constantly coming to you to be refilled. Let the world see something very different about us, because of the way you move in and through us. Fill us with your wisdom. Fill us with greater faith. Fill us with your power to see healings and other miraculous signs. Fill us with your joy that will flow out of us regardless of our circumstances. Fill us with your peace that is evident in our lives even in the most stressful situations. Fill us with a greater heart for the lost and your insight on how to lead them to you. Give us more of you, so we can fulfill your calling on our lives.
