November 13, 2022 - 2 Chronicles 16:9

“The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT

Lord, how marvelous is your love for us. You are not unaware of where we are and what is happening in our lives. Just the opposite. You know everything. You are acutely aware of our every thought and desire. You see every sorrow, every struggle, every joy, every laugh - everything. You know the number of hairs on our head. You created everything about us. There is nothing that you overlooked. We praise you for how attentive you are and how you long to love us. We also praise you for the fact that you have given us free will. You allow us to choose if we will give ourselves to you. Even after we submit to your Lordship, you allow us to choose at what level. Lord, we want to choose to live a life that is wholly given to you. Teach us what that really means. We don’t want to do it for what we can get from you, but we want to give our hearts fully to you so that we can receive more of you. You are the greatest treasure we could ever have. Show us the reality of that statement. You are worth more than anything we must lay aside to find more of you. You are worth whatever we must fast to find more time for you.

This verse says that you are searching for those whose hearts are fully committed to you. We want to be found in that category. It says that you will strengthen those who are. That leads me to ask that if we are feeling weak, maybe we need to look at our hearts? Have we lost our wholehearted commitment to you? Forgive us for anything that we have put before you. Show us what those things are. Show us how to reorder our life so that you are fully at the center of all we do. Restore unto us our first love with you, where we couldn’t get enough of your presence. Please lead us to wholeheartedly loving you.
