November 12, 2024 - 1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭4‬-‭5

“For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5:4-5 NLT

Lord, how wonderful is it that we have you living in us. There is not one bit of evil that can overcome you. You are all powerful and nothing compares to your might. We praise you for calling us your children. As your children we stand in your authority and can walk in your power. What an amazing thing that we have the power within us to defeat this evil world. Lord, forgive us for the times where we have yielded to evil. Forgive us for when we have walked in fear of evil. When we look at evil through our mere eyes, it can be easy to get pulled into its snares or cower in its presence.

Lord, our eyes don’t see reality. Open our eyes to see the reality of who is living in us and how small evil is compared to your power in us. Grow our faith to stand in the power and authority that you have given us. Make us your warriors that take back the territory of evil. Teach us how to use your Word as a sword that silences the enemy and sends him running. Teach us how to pray prayers that tear down the evil strongholds over our country and world. Let us be faith filled people who will stand up against evil and not let it become so normal around us that we don’t even notice it. Turn us into warriors who are used by you to take back souls and territory for your kingdom.

In Jesus name, amen.
