November 11, 2024 - Deuteronomy‬ ‭11‬:‭18‬-‭19

“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” Deuteronomy 11:18-19 NLT

Lord, help us to commit ourselves wholeheartedly to your Word. Show us how to surround ourselves with it. How can we bring it into our day every day? Make talking about it with our families and friends a normal part of our lives. We talk about things that are important to us. Your Words should be one of the most important things in our lives, yet how often is it a point of discussion in our homes? Are we taking the time to dig into it personally and discussing what we are discovering with our families? Are we purposefully teaching it to our kids on a daily or even a regular basis? Forgive us for not committing to it wholeheartedly to this level.

Holy Spirit, give us your strategies to make it a higher priority in our lives and in our homes. Help us to not just try and make time for it, but to see it as something that must happen daily like eating. Feeding our spirits is just as important, actually more important than feeding our physical bodies. Give us your strategies on how to raise our children in a way that we are instilling a love of your Word in them at a young age. Help us to see training them in it as more important than everything else they learn in school. Help us be people who truly raise our children to know and walk in your ways because they are grounded in your Word from a young age. Let this verse be true in our lives.

In Jesus name, amen.
