May 9, 2023 - Psalms‬ ‭19:11-13

“For they warn us, his servants, and keep us from following the wicked way, giving a lifetime guarantee: great success to every obedient soul! Without this revelation-light, how would I ever detect the waywardness of my heart? Lord, forgive my hidden flaws whenever you find them. Keep cleansing me, God, and keep me from my secret, selfish sins; may they never rule over me! For only then will I be free from fault and remain innocent of rebellion.” Psalms 19:11-13 TPT

Lord, in this passage we see more ways that your Word is a huge blessing to us. It is truly the lamp unto our feet that keeps us on the right path and away from wickedness. Thank you for the warnings that it sends us. We thank you that you promise great success to every obedient soul. Help us to walk in obedience to you. We know that you want the best for us.

We give you permission to shine your revelation-light into all our hidden places. Open our eyes to the things in us that are not pleasing to you. We don’t want anything in us to grieve your heart. Show us where there are wrong motives, where our pride is ruling, where we are harboring unforgiveness, where our selfishness is winning, where we are surrendering to sinful desires. Open our eyes to these things within us and allow us to see them through your eyes. Give us disgust and hatred for them. Make our hearts grieve when we discover any of them in us. Come in and uproot them from our lives once and for all.

Lord, thank you for your purifying fire. Thank you that even though it brings pain to us, it is such a blessing. Keep working within us. Keep purifying us. We thank you for how your work in us draws us closer to you. Thank you for the promises that are coming to the pure in heart who walk in your righteous ways. You are so wonderful to us.
