May 7, 2024 - Romans 5:8

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT

Lord, your love for us is so magnificent. It is more than our minds can comprehend. Even if we have had the privilege to have someone here on earth love us in a wonderful way, it can’t begin to compare to how you love us. Your love is unconditional. It is unending. It is always there. It loves sacrificially. It forgives again and again. It is so patient with us. It is perfect. What an honor to be loved by you. Why would the God over everything, be willing to send his Son to earth to die for we mere humans who are constantly messing up and causing you pain? It is just so hard to understand. We are not worthy, yet you assign us enough value to sacrifice greatly for us. It is great and perfect love.

We praise you so much for your love. We praise you that even though we are sinners who constantly mess up, you love us so much you make a way for us to be redeemed. You make a way for us to have a relationship with you here on earth and spend eternity with you. As much as we would want to say differently, we would never tolerate from another human what you tolerate from us. We praise you for your patience, grace, mercy, and love. Jesus, we praise you for your sacrifice. We praise you for your dear love. Teach us to love like you.

In Jesus name, amen.
