“Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:27 NLT
Lord, if we take an honest look at our thoughts, how much time do we spend worrying about one thing or another. There is so much in life to worry about. Some things that might make sense in our world to worry about and likely other things that don’t warrant our worry at all, yet we find ourselves worrying anyways. Lord, forgive us for both. Please help us recognize when we are worrying, especially in the areas where it happens so naturally to us that we don’t even notice it. We want to lay our worries in your hands and leave them there, fully trusting you to handle them. Grow our faith in you. No matter what we are facing, it is true that worrying about them will not add a single moment to our life. It will also not do anything to solve the issue. What it does do is to add stress to our lives and steals our precious time.
Lord, you are holding us in the palm of your hand. We know that you want to lead us through every circumstance. If our hearts are focused on you and yielded to you, we know that you will keep us on the right path. You are our Savior and our defender. Nothing is too hard for you. Nothing is too small for you to care about. Nothing is overlooked. We can not only take our hands off the steering wheel of our lives and let you drive, but we can put our heads back and fully rest, trusting that you have it. Teach us how to find peace and joy while we wait in expectancy for you to miraculously come through, even in the times that could be the most stressful. We praise you that you want to and will do so. You are so amazing and faithful to us. Thank you.
In Jesus name, amen.
