May 30, 2022 - 1 Corinthians 12:18-20
“But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.” 1 Corinthians 12:18-20 NLT
Lord, we praise you that you have designed each of us differently. You took time on each of us and you were very purposeful on every last detail of who we are – from the physical, to the characteristics and personalities, to the spiritual giftings. There was nothing that you didn’t have planned out. You created each of us to fulfill a purpose. And oh, how fulfilling life is when we are living out that purpose. When we try to fit into places that are not what you designed for us life just into the same. It might not always be a bad life, but it just might not be the best. We want to live in the niche that we were designed specifically for and to find your best for our lives.
Lord, we want to be Christians who are walking in obedience to all that you ask of us. We want to walk in obedience even if what you are asking takes a lot of faith, even if it is scary, even if we will have to trust you every step of the way, even if the world around us is telling us we should be something different or do something different. Regardless of the situations around us we want to say, “Yes” to you. We will never feel complete or fulfilled by trying to be a different body part than what we were designed to be. If we get into a place that is almost right, we might be able to do a decent job, but it just will never be the same as being in that place we were made for. Lord, help us always press into you for directions. We don’t want to get ourselves in a place that we must settle for less than because of the consequences of our decisions. We want to follow close behind you so that you can grow us into the person you need us to be to fulfill our purpose.
In Jesus name, amen.
