May 23, 2023 - Luke 6:43-45
“You’ll never find choice fruit hanging on a bad, unhealthy tree. And rotten fruit doesn’t hang on a good, healthy tree. Every tree will be revealed by the quality of fruit that it produces. Figs or grapes will never be picked off thorn trees. People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. But out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.” Luke 6:43-45 TPT
Lord, show us what kind of fruit we are producing. We can manipulate a lot of our lives to show people only what we want them to see, but how our fruit tastes speaks the truth. Is our fruit good, sweet, and bringing joy to people or bitter and unenjoyable? When we walk in a room does the atmosphere/dynamic change for the good? Are people happy and excited to see us because we bring your positive energy into the room? Or do we bring a depressing spirit or tension into the room? Lord, show us how our fruit looks in your eyes. Any areas of our lives that aren’t producing good fruit, show us how to change so that area starts to grow fruit that is sweet and brings joy. Prune off any branches that need to go to help us in this process.
Once we learn how to produce good fruit, we want to be a very productive fruit tree. Help us dig our roots deep into you and make us strong so we can produce and carry a lot of fruit. We give you permission to work in our lives as needed to turn us into abundantly fruitful trees, full of wonderfully sweet, live-giving fruit. Thank you, for being the perfect gardener who is working to make us to make us each into a wonderfully sweet, and abundant fruit tree.
