May 22, 2022 - Isaiah 43:2
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2 NIV
Lord, praise you that you never leave us alone. No matter what we are facing, you are there with us. Thank you for your faithfulness to us. This verse doesn’t tell us that you will keep us from facing the challenges of those hard places, but it promises that when we go through them, that you will be there and keep them from destroying us.
We praise you that you won’t let us drown when life gets overwhelming, and we feel like we are in over our heads. When we are too deep to stand on our own feet and too tired to keep swimming, you will hold us up. We praise you that when we are lacking and can’t do things on our own, that is when you shine. In this place, if we allow you, you will do some amazing things through us.
Lord, we also praise you that when we pass through the places in life that are just moving too fast and we feel we are going to get swept away, you will not allow that. And we thank you that when life feels like it is fully against us and is trying to consume us, you will not allow it to set us ablaze. When we have been thrown in the fire and we can see no escape in sight, help us learn to praise you in the fire.
Lord, in any of these types of situations, if we keep our eyes on you and our trust in you, you will keep us safe. Lord, in these situations help us not to focus on the situation around us and be overcome by fear. Help us stay in your perfect peace and trust fully in you. We praise you for always being our safety and our lifeline. We can always trust in you to save us. Halleluiah!
