May 20, 2024 - Psalms 17:14-15
“By the power of your hand, O Lord, destroy those who look to this world for their reward. But satisfy the hunger of your treasured ones. May their children have plenty, leaving an inheritance for their descendants. Because I am righteous, I will see you. When I awake, I will see you face to face and be satisfied.” Psalms 17:14-15 NLT
Lord, we praise you for being our satisfaction. When we are filled and overflowing with you, we lack nothing. You are always our greatest reward. Nothing we could ever wish for could begin to compare to you. You are most splendid. We praise you for how marvelous you are. We pray for more of you. Fill us, Lord. Replace any desire we have for things of this world with a stronger desire for you. Change our thinking. Rewire anything in our brains that desires the world and its ways. Transform us so that our deepest desire is more of you. Drive us to seek you out. We praise you that when we do that you will satisfy our hunger.
Lord, we not only want that for ourselves, but we want our hunger for you and our obedience to you to be the thing that our children learn most from us. Let that be the best inheritance that we leave for our descendants. We pray this not only over our physical children, but we ask for you to give us a multitude of spiritual children over our lifetime that we can pass that inheritance to, as well. Lord, help us live a righteous life that allows us to draw close to you and see you face to face. Fill us full, our Lord, and let us know true satisfaction. We praise you for it.
In Jesus name, amen.
