May 19, 2024 - John 10:10

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10 NLT

Lord, you are such an amazingly loving God. We praise you that your purpose is to give us a rich and satisfying life. We want to live that kind of life. Would you open our eyes to all the ways that you make our life rich? We don’t want to overlook or take for granted any of your precious gifts. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the craziness of life that we don’t stop and really take count of all the amazing things that you have given us. Holy Spirit, would you remind us a few times a day to just stop and take account of the gifts we are surrounded by in that moment that makes our life rich. Grow our gratitude. We also ask for you to help us learn what really satisfies us. The world would love to tell us that it is the money or title that comes with a promotion, more things to fill our homes, more status, etc. But Lord, none of those things truly satisfy. You created us and know what will fully satisfy each of us. Help us walk in obedience to what you ask of us, trusting that it will lead us to true satisfaction.

Lord, we also ask for you to open our eyes to the schemes and lies of the enemy. He is out to steal, kill, and destroy. We don’t want to fall prey to him. We want to put on our armor every day and be watchful of his tactics to distract us from you. We pray that you would restore everything he has stolen from us and show us how to be your mighty warriors who stand our ground against him. We praise you that when we stand in you, he can’t overcome us! All praise to you our Lord!

In Jesus name, amen.
