May 18, 2023 - Colossians 3:12-14
“You are always and dearly loved by God! So robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others. Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them. For love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity.” Colossians 3:12-14 TPT
Lord, help us to treasure the wisdom in these verses, and apply it to our lives. We thank you that we are always dearly loved by you. Your love is so amazing. And the way you pour it out over us is just so mind blowing and wonderful. Thank you doesn’t begin to express our gratitude.
We thank you that we have been divinely chosen to be holy. Thank you that you have made a way for that to be possible in our lives. Help us walk in your virtues. We can’t accomplish this without your help and guidance. Lead us, teach us, and grow us in this.
Lord, we do ask that you would teach us how to show mercy and compassion toward others, especially those who make it difficult. Those who don’t understand us, reject us, frustrate us, or hurt us. Show us how to see them through your eyes. Make us people who are kind and compassionate, even when it isn’t deserved.
Teach us how to be gentle and humble and how to not rise up in defense, but to humbly love others. Help us to live unoffendable lives, letting offense just bounce right off us. Help us learn to love others like you love us. Grow us and mature us in it.
In Jesus name, amen.
