May 16, 2022 - Luke 7:47–48
“She has been forgiven of all her many sins. This is why she has shown me such extravagant love. But those who assume they have very little to be forgiven will love me very little.” Then Jesus said to the woman at his feet, “All your sins are forgiven.”” Luke 7:47–48 TPT
Lord, we praise you so much for your forgiveness. It is truly a beautiful thing. We would be forever doomed without it. Your love for us is remarkable. Thank you so much for how much you pour out on us again and again. We praise you that you not only forgive us for a few things, but you forgive us for everything. Again, and again you offer your forgiveness for our sins and mistakes. You don’t condemn us or give up on us. We praise you that we are never too far for your mercy to easily reach. Lord, open our eyes to your mercy and your love. Allow us to fully understand all that you are forgiving us from. Allow us to see and understand the separation from you that our sin has caused. Help us grasp the greatness of what you have done for us. We want to be like the woman this verse is referring to. We want to show you extravagant love because we understand the debt you paid for us.
Regardless of what our testimony says, Lord, we know that we have been forgiven much. We don’t have to have come out of a wildly sinful lifestyle to fall so far short of your purity. We have all sinned and we all fall short. We all owe you an insurmountable debt. We ask that you open our eyes to how much we need your mercy and grace, so that we can begin to understand your love for us. We want to pour out all we are and all we have at your feet. You deserve that and more. Nothing can cost us too much, for you are worthy. The way you love us so fully and completely is unfathomable. We ask that you continue to open our minds to grasp more and more of it. We want to always love you back in that same manner.
In Jesus name, amen.
