May 15, 2022 - Song of Songs 3:11
“Rise up, Zion maidens, brides-to-be! Come and feast your eyes on this king as he passes in procession on his way to his wedding. This is the day filled with overwhelming joy—the day of his great gladness.” Song of Songs 3:11 TPT
Jesus, it is such an amazing thing to have you choose us to be your bride. What an honor! Oh, how we want to do all that we can to be a beautiful bride ready for you. We want to be pure and holy. Help us to always remember that you are calling us to you. Help us remember the importance of preparing ourselves for the day you come to claim us in the wedding of the ages. Help us live lives of expectancy. We never want to get so wrapped up in everyday life that we forget what really matters. We want to live our lives in the reality of the spiritual realm, and not in what we believe to be important in the earthly realm. Please help us to make sure that we are ready, that our lamps are trimmed and full of oil. We don’t have the promise of time. We have no idea when we need to be ready. We want to live a lifestyle of readiness.
Holy Spirit, we ask that you fill us with your oil. Keep us full and burning bright. We invite you to convict us when we get distracted. We want to be quick to ask forgiveness and have our sins washed away when necessary. Transform our hearts into hearts that are running hard after Jesus and the purity he desires. We know that the path leading there is straight and narrow. It is the road less traveled. We will not blend in but stand out as different. Keeping our garments spotless and our lamps full, takes hard work. We know it will not happen by happenstance. Help us choose to live that lifestyle on purpose. We not only want to live the lifestyle, but we want to live it with joy. Jesus, we want you more than we want anything else.
In Jesus name, amen.
