March 8, 2024 - Psalms 5:11-12

“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.” Psalms 5:11-12 NLT

Lord, we rejoice in knowing you. You are our refuge. You are our forever safe place that we can always count on. We praise you for your faithfulness to us. We praise you that no one can overcome you. You are greater than our enemies and we can trust you to be for us. We sing your praises. Let your praises be the first thought when we wake up and the last when we fall asleep. We praise you for your protection. We praise you for your steadfastness. We praise you for how you hold us close, and you stay with us no matter what we walk through. We praise you that even if you feel far away, we can stand on your Word and know that you are near. We can sing your praises and know that you hear us. When we focus on you and worship, it is wonderful how the overwhelming things that surround us begin to fade away. Thank you for how worshiping you shifts our perspectives and realigns us to your truth.

Lord, you make serving you such a wonderful thing. Thank you that when we hide under the wings of your refuge we are right there beside your heart. We can lean in and feel it beating. We can feel your love for us. We can get to know you. It is hard to comprehend that you, the one true God, who created everything, loves us completely and wants to allow us to get to know you. How can we not be filled with joy? How can we not love you back? You are an awesome God, and we fully choose to love and serve you. We choose to draw in close to you and find our refuge close in under your wings. We will praise you all the days of our lives for how you faithfully love us.

In Jesus name, amen.
