March 6, 2023 - Psalms 107:1-2
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.” Psalms 107:1-2 NLT
Lord, we praise you for how amazingly good you are. You are 100% good. There is not the smallest bit of evil in you. You are a just God who will serve out punishment where needed, for you could not be considered good if you didn’t punish evil. We also praise you that even though as a just God you must offer punishment, you have also made a way for us to receive mercy and a pardon for our sin. You paid the punishment for our sins yourself. You truly are an astonishingly good God. It is an honor to serve you.
We praise you for how you love us unconditionally. We praise you that your love endures forever. It is unending. We will never find the point in our sins where you say enough is enough and quit loving us. Even those who never cry out for mercy and come to know you are still greatly loved by you. It is hard to think about how heartbreaking it must be for you to one day have to punish them with an eternity in hell when you would rather hand out your mercy to them. It is remarkable how you have given us the choice to choose you. You love us so much that you will not force us to love and serve you, even though you are heartbroken when we don’t choose you. Even though you know that for all eternity we will be blessed and cared for by choosing to follow you, you still don’t force allegiance on us.
Lord, we are so grateful that you have redeemed us and that we will get to spend eternity in your presence. We want to share that same opportunity to the world so that there isn’t one person who didn’t have the chance to know your love and be redeemed by you. Help us make speaking out about your love a priority in our lives. Help us never miss an opportunity.
